From this weekend until the end of July I’ll be in South America, so no updates on this site until I’m back.

While I’m enjoying Peru and Bolivia, please visit the following sites for your resto shaman fix:

I took a break from WoW nearly every summer, most of the time because of  exams. This time I won’t come back to university after the summer but to finding a job as well as an apartment. My goal is to keep blogging at least one year, but as I don’t know yet where I’m going to work, I can’t promise anything. Also, I’m still not sure if the whole hard mode meta-game is really what I want. When I clear an instance, I somehow feel like I have beaten the game. Don’t get my wrong, some hard modes are excellent and much more fun than the normal modes. Others just don’t add that much to my gaming experience. After all it’s the same bosses I see over and over again.

From a game designer’s standpoint, hard modes are an excellent choice to keep as much players busy as possible. But honestly, I’m a lazy player. When I play a console game, most of the time I play it on normal mode, exactly one time. I enjoy the story, I enjoy the gameplay, but I nearly never replay a game on a hard mode.

So my future as a WoW Player and as a blogger depends on my work situation this fall, on my better-half and rouge Igraine and on how much I enjoy hard modes/end-game raiding in the near future. In exactly this order.

On a shaman related note, please check out the most recent blue posts on shamans. It looks like blizzard is going in the right direction, making CH,HW and LHW more competitive and GCD management will be much easier without annoying totems/WS-refreshing. We still won’t have any burst AoE healing, but honestly, without a new spell this just won’t happen. And to be realistic, the announced changes are just about what we can expect from a content patch. Let’s see what numbers we’ll put out on the PTR and I’m very curious how the resto shaman will look like on 3.2 patch day.

That’s it for now. Please tell me how you’re going to spend your summer, raiding as usual, less frequent or do you take a break? And how do you feel about the game, do you see yourself playing the game in six months? Last but not least: how do you feel about the latest shaman blue posts?

Enjoy your summer!

Wow, that sounds like a hell of a vacation. Have a great time down there. I’m sure things won’t be too different when you come back. Course, you’re leaving right before Blizcon, where I figure we’ve got about a 50/50 chance of getting a new expansion. And if that happens, that will give all the rest of us a months-long headstart on fantasizing about how great it will be.
