I absolutely agree. Especially for DPS, this addon isn't really helping and can mess up your rotation. The author puts the addon's effect somewhere around the equivalent of a 100 ms latency reduction, this is a small improvement, but could make the difference in some situations.

This was just horrible English in a horrible sentence. I actually wanted to highlight the very nice config dialog of Speedy Actions and not at all make anyone believe the addon would need any actions to set up.

Corrected.

I'm kind of curious, but where do you get that Speedy Actions requires setting up out of the box? The only configuration it has is blacklisting keys or disabling modules... but those aren't required configuration and it works fine when you install it.

@BBT
This is not the first time that an addon removing the response time of keyboard clicks has been released (I think it was actually the same addon). I have tested this type of addon previously, as dps and a healer, and while I enjoyed it as a healer for "stand around firing spells" as a dps I could not stand it because of the issues I mentioned -- most dps class rotations require the player to wait on abilities, not the other way around.

The reason I posted initially was merely to point out that some users may find the addon a detriment instead of a help despite the claims of others -- I'm glad it works for other people, but I wouldn't expect everyone to use the same keybinds, and in some ways, this is a keybind reflex action that may show marked improvement for some, and totally alien for others -- even after giving it an honest go.

Yeah that's exactly how I felt when I first installed the addon. I would try to chain cast one heal after the other with just one click and nearly always click to early. So if I was mainly elemental, I would't go through the hassle getting accustomed to this addon.

As healer though, you're getting the vibe pretty quick. Most of the time I'm mashing buttons anyway, the earlier the ability fires, the better.

@ Windsoar - that is exactly what Drug meant about getting used to. It took me about 30 mins on dummy on my paladin to nail this change down and actually up my dps a bit. But since then, all support combat actions - hands, cleanses, DI goes off way faster than before with dps upped by small margin. A great deal!

@ Drug - I switched to Speedy as well (Cliquer) and experimented with it; switching it off and on again to reduce the "placebo" effect you mentioned. So far, I think it really helped and lowered the action-taking time by fair margin. Like, I save more people now with my sparkly green leaves of awesome.

I actually find the loss of my "keypress delay" to be counter-productive when running a rotation. Often I'll have clicked that button down before it's ready or "timed" and simply release when ready -- I find this especially useful when having to move during a fight as I just let go at the correct time for my spell.

It also saves me the hassle of *ahem* accidental (read clumsy finger syndrome) pressure shooting off a spell at an unintended moment.
